FAQ – Frequently asked questions and answers

What is the difference between Tattoo Care Classic ointment and Tattoo Care
Black Rose ointment?

The difference between Tattoo Care Classic and Tattoo Care Black Rose ointment is that Tattoo Care Classic ointment does not contain any added fragrance and has only gentle scent of its natural ingredients. Tattoo Care Black Rose ointment contains a light Aloe Vera fragrance that makes it smell fresh and divine. Both ointments offer the same effectiveness.

Yes. Tattoo Care ointments were developed by pharmacists in collaboration with
professional tattoo artists. The emphasis was to develop a highly effective ointment
for tattoo care that can be used from day 1. Tattoo care ointments are made from
natural ingredients that deeply moisturize your skin and accelerate its regeneration,
soothe and nourish it and reduce redness caused by tattooing procedure. Before
applying the ointment to a fresh tattoo for the first time, gently rinse the tattoo with
lukewarm water (without the use of soap or shower gels). Dry it in the air or dry it
gently with a paper towel. With clean hands, apply a thin layer of Tattoo Care
ointment and repeat this procedure at least 3 times a day. Because the structure of
an ointment is denser than cream, try applying it with blotting or patting on your
tattoo (letting it warm from your body heat for a moment) and then gently spread it.

Of course, its natural ingredients are very beneficial for the skin and your tattoo.
Caring for tattoos is caring for your skin. It is important to take care of your tattoo
even when it has healed. If you don’t want you tattoo to fade or change colors, it
must be moisturized and nourished regularly. Tattoo Care ointment will deeply
moisturize your tattoo and nourish it. With regular use, it will help your tattoo stay
looking fresh and help preserve its colors.

Yes. Formulation for Tattoo Care ointments has been dermatologically tested for
all skin types and can be used for sensitive skin. For extra sensitive skin we
recommend you use Tattoo Care Classic as it was developed especially for that
purpose.

Tanning beds work by imitating sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation that contains both
UVA and UVB rays which are bad for your skin and especially your tattoos. Exposure

to those harmful rays can lead to fading of tattoo colors and changing coloration
(example: black ink looks green). Tattoo Care Sun Protection contains UVA/UVB
filters that will block those harmful rays and protect your tattoo. That’s why we
highly recommend you protect your tattoos with Tattoo Care Sun protection
ointment while using tanning beds.

All Tattoo Care ointments have been dermatologically tested for the use from day
1. But in case you just got a tattoo done, our advice would be that you don’t expose
your tattoo to the sun immediately until it has properly healed. You can still use the
Tattoo Care Sun Protection ointment; it is made from ingredients that not only
protect your tattoo from the sun but can help it heal faster.

Because of its composition, Tattoo Care Sun protection is classified as an ointment.
Ointments are natural moisturizers. Tattoo Care Sun Protection will not only protect
your tattoo from the sun and its colors from fading but will also deeply moisturize
your skin which will help it rejuvenate faster. Nourished skin is the most important
factor in maintaining beauty and life of your tattoo.

The difference between ointments and creams is in the structure and share of
ingredients in them which has impact on their later use and benefits. Ointments
contain more oils (80 % oils and 20 % water) and creams usually contain equal shares
of both (50 % oils and 50 % water). Due to containing more water, creams are easier
to spread (the ones containing the most water are also the ones that are easiest to
spread) and are less greasy but are also easier to wash away and mostly protect only
the outer layer of your skin. Ointments penetrate more deeply into the layer of skin
called dermis (where your tattoo is) and nourish it more effectively from the inside
while also creating a protection layer on outer layer of your skin, which helps it stay
moisturized longer. That is why ointments are better moisturizers and work more
efficiently and are in most cases better option for your tattoo than a cream.

Due to its structure (ointment) Tattoo Care Black Rose or Classic are best applied
with blotting or patting on your tattoo (letting ointment warm from your body heat
for a moment) and then gently spread it.

Due to their structure and natural ingredients Tattoo Care Black Rose and Classic
are highly recommended for restoring and preserving your tattoos. They will deeply
moisturize your skin and help it rejuvenate faster. Your tattoo will look refreshed,
shinier and the colors will become more vivid. With regular use you can ensure it
stays that way for a long time. Nevertheless, if your tattoos are too damaged
(discoloration), ointments will still help a bit, but do not expect your tattoo to look
like new again.

Due to their composition and natural ingredients, Tattoo Care Black Rose and
Classic are water resistant. Benefits of being water resistant are that after application
you can subject it to water or sweat and it won’t rub off like some creams usually do.

Do to its composition and natural ingredients Tattoo Care Sun Protection ointment
is water resistant up to 80 min. Nevertheless, we recommend reapplication after
every swim or toweling.

Main ingredient for any ointment or a cream are natural oils which help transfer
active ingredients in an ointment on and into your skin. If you let Tattoo Care Black
Rose or Classic ointments soak into the skin for a few minutes after applying them,
they will not leave any visible marks on your clothes. Tattoo Care Black Rose and
Classic do not contain Zinc Oxide which leaves white stains on your clothes and is
very common ingredient in many other ointments and creams.
